Commercial Roofing: Expectations Versus Reality

Commercial roofing systems are typically made up of tar and gravel (built-up), sprayed polyurethane foam, single ply, PVC and TPO (thermoplastic), EPDM or thermoset roofing, metal roofing, and modified bitumen roofing.

These differ from residential roofing materials because the roofs on commercial buildings protect entirely different structure types. Commercial roof systems protect low-slope and flat roofs and help remediate leaks, water ponding, and other roof repair needs specific to an industrial building or warehouse.
